TL;DR : We’ve worked with Fondations Altitudes from Autumn of 2024 on a complex showcase website, displaying a presentation of the foundation and the many avenues it makes an impact on children’s lives by combatting school dropout (https://fondation-altitudes.org). The website is fully editable, thanks to the use of a Rails-backed CMS called Spina

🧩 The initial problem

The French foundation Fondation Altitudes was founded in 2024 with the ambition to prevent and reduce school dropout. This goal is achieved by finding established partners in this field, and collaborating to help organize, analyze, and scale the actions taken, may it be directly with the children or through the upgrade of digital tools.

The idea was for us to collaborate closely with Fondation Altitudes to build, from the ground up, the right showcase website to highlight the foundation’s actions and purpose.

✅ The solution

Fondation Altitudes had in mind to build a very complete showcase website, while allowing them to have as much control as possible on the site’s content and pages. We decided to implement this site by leveraging the power of Spina CMS, a Rails-backed CMS allowing us to provide our client with modularity in the integration.

Fondation Altitudes Case Study 1

We conducted in parallel UX, design & content workshops to build the site’s aesthetic and find the best way to organize the displayed information.

The final integration, for mobile, tablet and desktop, encapsulates many of the building blocks we designed together with Fondation Altitudes. The website introduces the Fondation Altitudes and the services it provides, but also highlights the projects & partners involved with the foundation, with key figures and team presentation. It also bears a section with client-written articles, akin to a blog section, to further push the identity and values of the foundation.

The “fully editable” part of the development was a good challenge, which allowed us to propose a lightweight Rails-based CMS and divert from the typical heavy platforms often used for this purpose.

Our client was happy with the results, and we are still working together today on the different ways Fondation Altitudes can combat school dropout through the use of technology.
